About Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation

At Mosaic Life Care, we understand the importance of offering quality rehabilitation services to our patients. A multidisciplinary rehabilitation program, that consists of physical therapy, occupational therapy and speech therapy, is specifically designed for everyone depending on the injury, disorder or illness. Our highly–trained and experienced therapists in St. Joseph take a multidisciplinary team approach for care and service as the basis of rehabilitation treatment. Multidisciplinary refers to the fact that many different disciplines work together toward a common goal.

Physical Therapists

Angela Bratton, MS, CCC-SLP

Angela Bratton, MS

Angela graduated from Missouri State University with a Bachelor of Science in Communication Sciences and Disorders in 2006 and later graduated from the University of Central Missouri with a Master’s Degree in Speech Language Pathology. Angela has 14 years of experience in treating adults with speech, language, swallowing, voice and cognitive disorders. Her special interests include voice disorders and treatment of dysphagia in the head and neck cancer population.

Carol Latham, OTR/CHT/CLT

Carol Latham, OTR/CHT/CLT

Carol Christine Latham graduated from the University of Missouri in 1983 with a bachelor’s degree in Occupational Therapy. She became a certified hand therapist in 2004 with a specialty in hand and upper extremity therapy to include splinting. Christine obtained her lymphedema certification in 2009. She has worked in the Occupational Therapy field for nearly 40 years with a specialization and passion for hand therapy for most of her career.

Teresa Flores, PTA

Teresa Flores, PTA

Teresa graduated from Colby Community College in 1984 with an associate’s degree of Applied Science. Teresa is trained in the McKenzie Method for treatment in necks and backs. Teresa also performs officer ergonomic assessments and is part of the safe patient handling team.

Samantha Legrand, PTA

Samantha Legrand, PTA

Samantha attended Missouri Western State University where she received her Associate of Applied Science in PTA as well as a Bachelor’s in Health and Exercise Science. She has been practicing in the field for 4 years where she has gained experience in home health and outpatient settings. She is certified in FMT movement assessment and enjoys seeing a variety of orthopedic and neurological cases.

Courtney Kalamon, OTR/L

Courtney Kalamon, OTR/L

Courtney graduated from the University of Missouri with a master's in occupational therapy in 2020 and a bachelor's in psychology from the University of Central Missouri in 2017. She has experience in home health therapy and inpatient rehabilitation facilities. Courtney began working with Mosaic in April 2021 and sees a wide range of pediatric patients, from Autism, Down's Syndrome and cerebral palsy, to sensory processing disorder and fine motor delay/handwriting difficulties. 

Laura Neff, MA, CCC-SLP

Laura Neff, MA

Laura graduated from the University of South Dakota in 2019 with a bachelor's degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders & Psychology and in 2021 with a master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology. Laura treats both pediatrics and adults with special interests including traumatic brain injury and cerebrovascular accident rehabilitation and developmental delays.

Nancy Crawford, PT

Nancy Crawford, PT

Nancy graduated from Rockhurst University in 1989 with a bachelor’s in physical therapy. Nancy has 33 years experience and specializes with certifications in neurological and vestibular rehabilitation. Nancy also specializes in treatment of lower extremity amputations.

Julie Raines, OTR/L

Julie Raines, OTR/L

Julie graduated from Culver-Stockton College in 1996 with a bachelor’s degree in psychology with an emphasis in occupational therapy. She then went to Concordia University-Wisconsin for Occupational Therapy school and graduated in 1998 with a Masters of Occupational Therapy degree. She has worked since then in many various settings from Outpatient, to SNF/Long-Term Care and Home Health. She recently completed the certification process for lymphedema and received her CLT.

Jeff Mather, PT

Jeff Mather, PT

Jeff graduated from the University of Missouri-Columbia with a Bachelor of Heath Sciences - PT. He has worked mainly in outpatient settings for 39 years. His main area of practice has been in orthopedics. During the past 10 years, his main focus has been addressing pain through mechanical treatment with emphasis on providing patients the tools needed to meet their own needs.

Tera Evans, PT, DPT

Tera Evans, PT, DPT

Tera graduated from Missouri Valley College in 2008, with a double major in exercise science and athletic training. She then graduated from Rockhurst University in 2011 with a Doctorate in Physical Therapy (DPT). Tera has 10 years experience in outpatient therapy treating a variety of orthopedic and general diagnoses, she also treats pelvic health.

Kati Black, OTR/L

Kati Black, OTR/L

Kati holds a Master's in Occupational Therapy from Brenau University and a Bachelor of Health Science degree from Missouri Western State University. She has experience in acute care and outpatient. Kati is mentored by Chris Latham OTR/CHT/CLT pursuing her passion for hand therapy and obtaining her prerequisites to become a Certified Hand Therapist.

Christopher Farney, PT, DPT

Chris Farney, PT, DPT

Chris graduated from Benedictine College in 2007 with a Bachelor of Arts in Biology and then Rockhurst University in 2011 with a Doctorate of Physical Therapy (DPT). He has nearly 11 years of experience, primarily in the outpatient field. He enjoys working with all types of patients, using manual therapy to promote healthy movement.

Julie Schiermeyer, PTA

Julie Schiermeyer, PTA

Julie has over 25 years of experience as a Physical Therapist Assistant. She has an extensive background in manual therapy with specialty training in myofascial release, craniosacral therapy, visceral manipulation, cupping and Graston. Julie specializes in the treatment of chronic pain servicing patients with headaches, migraines, fibromyalgia syndrome, motor vehicle accidents, neck and back pain. In her free time, she enjoys time with family, walking, spending time in nature, writing, painting and sewing.

Beth Sterns, COTA

Beth Sterns, COTA

Beth has been a Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant since 1997, completing her training at the College of St. Catherine in Minneapolis, MN. She has been an employee for 25 years working in various departments in the hospital system. She has been an integral part of Mosaic’s Lymphedema clinic since 2011 when she received her certification to treat patients with a variety of lymphatic disorders. She is able to treat patients with venus disease, wounds, cancer diagnosis such as breast cancer, head and neck cancer and others. 

Sherry Frieden, CPTA

Sherry Frieden, CPTA

Sherry graduated from Missouri Western State University in 2000. She has been a PTA for 22 years and has worked for Mosaic for 29 years. Sherry treats all types of diagnoses, but her specialty is neuro, amputee, vestibular and aquatic therapy.

McKenna Griess, DPT, MBA

McKenna Griess, DPT, MBA

McKenna graduated from Nebraska Wesleyan University in 2019 with a Bachelor's degree in Exercise Science. She graduated from Rockhurst University in 2022 with a Doctorate of Physical Therapy (DPT) and a Master of Business Administration (MBA).

McKenna treats patients of all ages but primarily focuses on the pediatric population. She sees a wide range of pediatric patients, from newborns with torticollis or developmental delay, to high school athletes trying to return to their sport. McKenna is certified in dry needling and blood flow restriction training.

Daniel Corbin, PT, DPT

Daniel Corbin, PT, DPT

Daniel earned his associate degree as a physical therapist assistant in 2019 and a bachelor's degree in exercise science in 2021, both from Missouri Western State University in St. Joseph, In 2023, he completed his doctorate in physical therapy at the University of Saint Mary in Leavenworth, Kan. He specializes in treating patients who experience neck and back pain, along with those who require post-surgical rehab for various orthopedic conditions. He utilizes a combination of manual therapy and personalized exercises to support patients in achieving success.
