FAQs
Mosaic Life Care Cancer Care is committed helping you navigate your entire cancer-care process. Here are some answers to common questions we get from patients:
What can Mosaic Life Care offer me that I might not find elsewhere?
Mosaic Life Care provides you with everything you need to take care of your cancer diagnosis, close to home:
- Advanced diagnosis and treatment therapies.
- A partnership with Mayo Clinic through the Mayo Clinic Care Network
- Patient- and family-focused approach to all aspects of your care.
- Support services to help make your care process seamless.
- A sincere understanding that cancer treatment can be complicated. We make it our priority to reduce the complications for you and your family as much as possible.
- Your care goes beyond treating your physical symptoms. We provide support from the initial diagnosis through survivorship.
I am considering starting my treatment somewhere other than Mosaic Life Care; can I become a patient after being a patient someplace else?
While we welcome new patients at any stage of cancer care, we recommend starting your treatment with our multi-disciplinary team of experts so you can have coordinated, high-quality care from the beginning. Initial treatment plays an important role in defining the course of the disease and immediately starting the right treatment increases the odds of success.

Is it ok if I don’t come alone?
Absolutely. We encourage you to bring a friend or family member to your first appointment and any subsequent appointments. A lot of information is shared at your appointments and it can feel overwhelming. It’s nice to have someone with you to provide an extra pair of ears to listen, assist you with taking notes and even ask questions that you may not be thinking of.
Additionally, bringing someone along helps relieve anxiety. Emotional support is important throughout the cancer-care process, and friends and family help give you additional support.
Will I have only one doctor at Mosaic Life Care?
As a Mosaic Life Care Cancer Care patient, you will be assigned a team of doctors and expert caregivers. There will be one doctor in charge of your care, but they will work as a part of a team of doctors, nurse practitioners, specialists and other caregivers as needed. This team approach provides you with the opportunity to have your unique treatment plan reviewed by multiple specialist who can make recommendations based on your individual needs. Learn more about our approach to care.
In addition to the team of doctors on site, Mosaic Life Care is also part of the Mayo Clinic Care Network which allows us to review cases with an additional team of experts.
If I receive care through Mosaic Life Care’s Cancer Care program, does that mean I don’t get to see my own provider anymore?
Your doctor will still be your doctor. Whether you are referred by your doctor or you refer yourself, your relationship with your doctor does not have to change. While Mosaic Life Care providers are experts in cancer care, your doctor will still be the expert in your overall health-care needs. We will stay in touch with your doctor throughout your treatment.
What if I don’t have a primary care provider of my own?
That is not a problem. You are still welcome to refer yourself to Mosaic Life Cares Cancer Care. We do recommend that everyone have a primary care provider for their overall health and well-being but not having one will not keep you from becoming a cancer-care patient.
If you are interested in finding a primary care provider, Mosaic Life Care has many providers who can meet your needs.
