Appendix cancer

Overview

Appendix cancer is cancer of the finger-shaped pouch attached to the colon (appendix).

Symptoms

A small tumor usually causes no symptoms. Rarely, a large tumor can block the appendix and cause appendicitis.

Treatments

The cancer is commonly treated by surgical removal of the appendix and tumor.
