Overview

Basal cell carcinoma is skin cancer that begins in the basal cells. Basal cells produce new skin cells as old ones die.

Symptoms

This cancer typically occurs on frequently sun-exposed areas, such as the face and neck.

Treatments

Treatments include surgery to remove the cancer or prescription creams or medications.
