Benign paroxysmal positional vertigo

Overview

BPPV is triggered by certain changes in head position, such as tipping the head up or down. It's rarely serious unless it increases the risk of falling.

Symptoms

People with BBPV experience dizziness, a sensation that they or their surroundings are spinning, lightheadedness, unsteadiness, loss of balance, blurred vision, and nausea.

Treatments

Treatment includes a series of head movements to shift particles in the ears.
