Breast cyst

Overview

Breast cysts are common in women ages 35 to 50. They usually disappear after menopause, unless a woman is taking hormone therapy.

Symptoms

A cyst may feel like a grape or water balloon, or feel firm. There may be more than one cyst.

Treatments

Treatment usually isn't needed. But if a cyst is large or uncomfortable, it can be drained with a needle.
