Overview

Carcinoma is a cancer that starts in the cells that line the skin or inner organs (epithelial cells). Examples are certain skin, colon, liver, lung, breast, and prostate cancers.

Treatments

Treatment depends on the type and stage of cancer. Surgery, medication, chemotherapy, or radiation may be used.
