Overview

Cervical cancer occurs in the cervix, the lower part of the uterus connected to the vagina. A sexually transmitted virus called HPV plays a role in most cases. Routine screening and an HPV vaccine can help prevent it.

Treatments include surgery, radiation, and chemotherapy.
