Overview

Cheilitis is an inflammation of the lips. Causes may include irritated skin, allergies, frequent sun exposure, infection, and autoimmune conditions.

Symptoms

Lip swelling, redness, dryness, cracking, crusting, and itching are some symptoms.

Treatments

Treatments depend on the cause but may include avoidance of the irritant, topical creams, and antibiotics.
