De Quervain syndrome

Overview

De Quervain's syndrome is a painful condition affecting the tendons on the thumb side of the wrist.

Symptoms

Repetitive hand or wrist movements can make the condition worse.

Treatments

Treatment may include medication, physical or occupational therapy, or surgery. Treatment is generally successful when begun early.
