Overview

Dermatitis is a general term for inflammation of the skin. It's usually not contagious.

Symptoms

Dermatitis typically involves an itchy rash on swollen, reddened skin. Examples are atopic dermatitis (eczema), dandruff, and contact rashes.

Treatments

Treatment options include self-care, corticosteroid creams, and light therapy.
