Distal radius fracture

Overview

A broken wrist (distal radius fracture) occurs when the larger forearm bone breaks near the wrist. The bone can break in different ways.

Symptoms

Symptoms include pain, swelling, and tenderness. The wrist may hang in an odd way.

Treatments

Treatment may include a cast or splint, physical therapy, and surgery.
