Epididymitis

Overview

Epididymitis is inflammation of the coiled tube at the back of the testicle that stores and carries sperm. It's often caused by a bacterial or sexually transmitted infection.

Symptoms

Pain and swelling are common symptoms.

Treatments

Treatment usually is antibiotics. Sometimes pus may need to be drained or part or all of the coiled tube may be surgically removed.
