Overview

Hand-foot-and-mouth disease is a common children's virus.

Symptoms

It causes sores in the mouth and a rash on hands and feet. Other symptoms include fever, sore throat, sick feeling, irritability, and loss of appetite.

Treatments

The virus usually clears up within 10 days. Pain medications help relieve symptoms.
