Hepatitis B


Overview

Hepatitis B is a serious liver infection caused by the hepatitis B virus. In chronic cases liver failure, cancer, or scarring can occur.

Symptoms

Symptoms include abdominal pain, dark urine, and fever. Children don't show symptoms.

Treatments

The condition often clears up on its own. Chronic cases need medication and, possibly, a liver transplant.
