High-functioning autism

Overview

High-functioning autism is a mild version of autism spectrum disorder, a condition affecting a child's ability to interact. The condition has also been called Asperger's syndrome.

Symptoms

A child with this condition has average to above-average intelligence, but is slow to develop social skills.

Treatments include behavior and communication therapy.
