Hip dislocation
Overview
Motor vehicle accidents are a common cause of hip dislocation. Once a hip is dislocated, chances increase that it will happen again.
Symptoms
It may be swollen, painful, and visibly out of place. The leg may be hard to move or feel tingly or numb.
Treatments
Immediate medical treatment is needed. It may include pushing the bone in place by hand, surgery, a splint, medication, and rehabilitation.
