Overview

Hypoglycemia is low blood sugar, the body's main energy source. Diabetes treatment and other conditions can cause hypoglycemia.

Symptoms

Heart palpitations, shakiness, anxiety and hunger are symptoms.

Treatments

High-sugar foods or medications can treat an occurrence of low blood sugar. It's important that a doctor identify and treat the underlying cause.
