Kaposi's sarcoma


Overview

Kaposi's sarcoma causes lesions to grow in the skin, lymph nodes, internal organs, and mucous membranes lining the mouth, nose, and throat. It often affects people with weakened immune systems, such as those with HIV

Symptoms

Purple, red, or brown skin blotches are a common sign. Tumors also may develop in other body areas.

Treatments

Treatment may include radiation, chemotherapy, targeted therapy, or surgery.
