Leiomyoma
Overview
A leiomyoma is a noncancerous soft issue tumor that develops from smooth muscle. It can develop on the skin, stomach, or elsewhere. A common type is uterine leiomyoma, which is a fibroid tumor in the womb (uterus).
Treatments
Treatment may not be needed. Medications might be used to treat discomfort. Tumors can be surgically removed.
