Nosebleed
When to make a doctor’s appointment
Make an appointment to see a doctor if:
- Occurs repeatedly without a history of trauma

Sit upright, leaning slightly forward, and pinch both nostrils shut for five to 10 minutes. Repeat as needed until bleeding stops.
When to seek immediate medical care
See a doctor immediately if:
- Severe and profuse bleeding
- Continues for more than 30 minutes
- Child under 2 years old
- Follows an injury or trauma
- Taking blood-thinning drugs
