Ovarian cyst

Overview

Ovarian cysts are solid or fluid-filled sacs or pockets within or on the surface of an ovary. They usually disappear in a few months but can cause complications if they don't.

Symptoms

Menstrual irregularities and pain during intercourse or bowel movements are symptoms.

Treatments

If a cyst doesn't go away, treatments are birth control pills or surgery.
