Penile fracture

Overview

Penile fracture is a rupture of the lining of 1 of the 2 cylinders in the penis responsible for erections. This can occur if the penis is bent suddenly or forcefully while erect and engorged with blood.

Treatments

Urgent medical care is needed, usually surgery. If untreated, the penis may be deformed or unable to become erect.
