Perianal abscess


Overview

Anorectal abscess is usually caused by anal infection or blocked glands. It can result from sexual transmission or a disorder, such as Crohn's disease or diverticulitis.

Symptoms

Symptoms include anal or buttock pain and/or swelling, constipation, and fever.

Treatments

Surgery is the standard treatment for anorectal abscess.
