Polyhydramnios

Overview

With polyhydramnios, there's an excess of the fluid that surrounds the baby in the womb during pregnancy (amniotic fluid).

Symptoms

Most cases are mild and clear up on their own. Severe cases may cause shortness of breath and preterm labor.

Treatments

They may require treatment such as draining the excess fluid.
