Pressure ulcer


Overview

Bedsores (pressure ulcers) are injuries to skin and tissue resulting from prolonged pressure on the skin.

Symptoms

They often develop on the heels, ankles, hips, and tailbone. People most at risk are those with a condition that limits their ability to change positions.

Treatments

Pressure ulcers can develop quickly and may be difficult to treat.
