Overview

Rocky Mountain spotted fever is a tick-borne disease that makes blood vessels leak. It can cause serious kidney damage.

Symptoms

Symptoms include severe headache and high fever. A rash may appear a few days later. The rash starts on wrists and ankles and may spread.

Treatments

It's treated with antibiotics. Treatment should start within 5 days of symptoms.
