Scarlet fever


Overview

Scarlet fever, also known as scarlatina, is a bacterial illness that develops in some people who have strep throat. It's most common in children 5 to 15 years of age.

Symptoms

Symptoms include a bright red rash that covers most of the body, a sore throat, and a high fever.

Treatments

Scarlet fever is treated with antibiotics.
