Schizoaffective disorder


Overview

Schizoaffective disorder may have psychotic symptoms and mood disturbances that occur at the same time or appear interchangeably. Cycles of severe symptoms are often followed by a period of improvement.

Symptoms

Symptoms may include delusions, depressed episodes, manic periods of high energy, and hallucinations.

Treatments

People with this disorder generally do best with a combination of medications and counseling.
