Second trimester pregnancy

Treatments

Regular visits to a health care provider are important for mother and baby.

Overview

During the second trimester of pregnancy you'll experience more physical changes as your baby develops. Learning about labor, delivery and impending parenthood can help ease anxiety.

Symptoms

While nausea often eases, your breasts and belly will continue to grow. You might develop brown patches on your face and stretch marks. Leg cramps, nasal stuffiness, sensitive gums and dizziness are common.

Treatment

Seek regular prenatal care. Saline drops can relieve congestion. Drinking fluids and avoiding standing for long periods can prevent dizziness. Staying active and stretching might help ease leg cramps.
