Thrombosis
Overview
Thrombosis is the development of a mass of clumped blood (blood clot) in a blood vessel. It can restrict blood flow and cause a life-threatening stroke, heart attack, or blockage of blood to the lungs.
Symptoms
Signs and symptoms depend on the location and size of the blood clot.
Treatments
Treatments include compression stockings, medications, or a clot-catching filter inserted into a blood vessel.
