Tinea pedis

Overview

Athlete's foot (tinea pedis) is a contagious fungal infection that usually begins between the toes, occurring commonly in people whose feet have become very sweaty while confined within tightfitting shoes.

Symptoms

Symptoms include a scaly rash that usually causes itching, stinging, and burning.

Treatments

Treatment involves topical antifungal medications.
