Transient ischemic attack

Overview

A transient ischemic attack (TIA) is similar to a stroke but usually lasts only minutes and causes no permanent damage. A TIA may be a warning sign of a future stroke.

Symptoms

Symptoms include weakness on 1 side of the body, vision problems, and slurred speech.

Treatments

Treatment includes medication, surgery, and healthy lifestyle changes.
