Trichinosis

Overview

Trichinosis is a type of roundworm infection. The condition is spread when a person eats infected, undercooked meat. Larvae from the meat become adult worms in the intestine.

Symptoms

Within a week, symptoms such as diarrhea, cramps, and high fever appear.

Treatments

The condition often clears up on its own in a few months. Anti-parasitic medication can help.
