Overview

Upper gastrointestinal bleeding is bleeding in the tube connecting the mouth to the stomach (esophagus), the stomach, or the first part of the small intestine. Causes may include ulcers, inflammation and cancer.

Symptoms

Tarry stools, vomiting blood and vomit that looks like coffee grounds are symptoms.
